Major Facility Equipment & Capabilities
ACT utilizes a NEW Horizontal Loading Vacuum Furnace HR66x72 with Load Capacities of 6000lbs at 2400Â°F in a 48â€ť x 48â€ť x 72â€ť workzone. Not only does this furnace feature state of the art controls and capabilities, it is one of the few furnaces in the industry is end zone heating elements. What does this mean? It means superb temperature uniformity and unsurpassed quality during the critical heat treatment process. First class equipment coupled ACTâ€™s stringent maintenance and calibration schedule allow this furnace to operate extremely clean with vacuum levels consistently in the 10-4 Torr Range. Who do you trust to heat treat your parts?
As part of ACTâ€™s technology driven process upgrades, we utilize Inert Gas welding chambers to enhance weld quality and reduce weld heat affected zones, especially on parts with high stress loads. The inert gas chambers coupled with plasma welding machines and extensive process qualification enables ACT to offer its customers extended repair limits, improved weld quality and the technology required to weld some of the most advanced materials used in gas turbines today.
Rapid Hole EDM
With the requirements for weld repair of complex cooled parts and the inherent difficulties of preserving the holes during the weld repair process, it is important to have a repeatable and consistent method to restore these cooling schemes. ACT has a Rapid Hole CNC EDM to be used in F-Class and other new technology parts that require weld repair and restoration of the cooling scheme. This machine will have the capacity to handle most land based gas turbine component cooling restoration requirements.
With the requirements for tip restoration of complex cooled rotating blades/buckets and the inherent difficulties ensuring accurate and thoroughly restored cooling covers, ACT installed a CNC Sinker EDM to be used in F-Class and other new technology parts that require Sinker EDM Precision Machining Preparation. This machine will have the capacity to handle most land based gas turbine component requirements as well as various other customer needs.

Flow Test System
ACT has a high flow sonic nozzle flow test system that was built specifically for turbine component flow testing. Its sonic nozzle design and precision instrumentation allow for accurate repeatable flow measurements on Fuel Nozzles, Vanes, Blades and various other critical flow components.
