With the requirements for tip restoration of complex cooled rotating blades/buckets and the inherent difficulties ensuring accurate and thoroughly restored cooling covers, ACT has installed a CNC Sinker EDM to be used in F-Class and other new technology parts that require Sinker EDM Precision Machining Preparation. This machine will have the capacity to handle most land based gas turbine component requirements.

With the requirements for weld repair of complex cooled parts and the inherent difficulties of preserving the holes during the weld repair process, it is important to have a repeatable and consistent method to restore these cooling schemes. ACT has installed a Rapid Hole CNC EDM to be used in F-Class and other new technology parts that require weld repair and restoration of the cooling scheme. This machine will have the capacity to handle most land based gas turbine component cooling restoration requirements.

Matthew Goldston joined ACT Independent Turbo Services as Chief Financial Officer. Matthew Goldston holds a B.B.S., Accounting from the University of Houston and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and a Certified Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA). Mr. Goldston has over 18 years’ experience in financial operations. Mr. Goldston was previously CFO of both TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc. and SAT Corporation. Mr. Goldston worked in public accounting at Ernst & Young, LLP and Centerprise Advisors, Inc. We are very happy to have Matt on our team to help us manage our capital and human resources as we grow.

Glenn Turner joined ACT Independent Turbo Services as Vice President of Engineering & IT. Glenn Turner holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has over 16 years’ experience in Gas, Steam and Rotating Equipment repair. Mr. Turner began his career in rotating equipment at the age of 19 as an engineering intern and later a production engineer and production manager for gas turbine component repairs. Prior to joining ACT, Glenn was responsible for the operations, P&L, strategy, growth and management of an industrial rotating equipment overhaul and At-Speed balance facility. This area of responsibility included 135 people and annual revenues in excess of $45MM. Mr. Turner’s wide range of management and operational experience will be invaluable to ACT’s future growth plans.
